Amazing service!! When traveling with a group to Varenna, my bag was left on the train - Ioana behind the counter SAVED the day by going above and beyond to track down my bag and arrange a pickup time that very day. She was so kind and helpful!

Not only did she help recover my luggage, Ioana shared amazing tips and suggestions about how best to enjoy the area - she MADE our experience in Varenna magical.

The next day we were passing by the station with a phone at 5% battery, so we stopped in to see if we could purchase a battery pack .. it turns out the staff is always PRE-CHARGING a battery pack so it can be ready to go with power at the time of purchase. How thoughtful, right?!

I cannot say enough about our experience at the Varenna Station - for anyone who reads this review, please go in and say hello to the lovely Ioana behind the counter here: you won't regret it! If you're lucky, she might even tell you about a magical lakeside restaurant with the best risotto in Italy. 💫

I was hesitant to stop and ask for help after seeing the low star reviews but I am glad I did as I
had the most lovely experience. The lady working the counter was incredibly helpful and answered all our questions fully. When she learned that the AirBnB we had rented was halfway up the mountain, she gave us invaluable advice regarding a walking path and how to get taxi transportation from the harbor. She also recommend exceptional nearby restaurants (with transportation 🙌🏻) and made suggestions for ferry spots that best met our desired experience. It was WELL worth the 1 euro charge per ticket!! Bad experience compared to the one we had later at the real tourism office near San Giorgio church (which we strongly recommend, they were keen to help us, smily, patient...). The lady who "welcomed" us jere was snob, she answered other people while we still had questions, leaving us waiting in front of her desk. It is a place to sell train tickets, but not for tourism advice. We really had the feeling of bothering her in her business.

A wonderful customer service and much needed help. When our large group left a suitcase on a train and didn’t realize it until after the train departed, she called ahead to the train, found the luggage and had them return it to us back in Varenna only a few hours later when the train came back through. We were given great suggestions for lunch while we waited and what could have been an awful travel day was made all the better by this office and by Ioana.

ESTAFA! No compren sus boletos/tickets de tren aquí, cobran 1€ extra por cada billete y la máquina automática Trenord está justo a la vuelta donde se pueden comprar a su precio real. No informan de su coste.

Una lástima que permita la estación que todos los carteles de tickets lleven a esa tienda.

Menos mal que durante el rato que tuve que esperar el tren, evite que unas 20 personas cayeran en mi misma estafa. Tener la conciencia tranquila es importante y la mujer que me atendió no creo que la tenga engañando a la gente. El karma siempre vuelve.
